ABOUT US

Our 100% employee owned firm was established in 2000.

We offer specialized engineering services for bridge, bridge culvert and drainage projects.

MPA Engineering Ltd. (MPA) specializes in addressing the bridge-related needs of rural and urban municipalities, Alberta Transportation, oil and gas companies, and contractors. We work as Prime Consultants or partner with other firms to form a comprehensive design team that meets all client requirements.

Our staff understands the challenges of maintaining large, aging infrastructure networks with increasing traffic volumes and heavier vehicles. Whether designing a single bridge repair or managing an entire Bridge Asset Management program, we aim to provide cost-effective and practical engineering solutions.

MPA’s corporate policy ensures that all designers and project managers maintain (or are working towards) Class A or B BIM certifications and are actively involved in bridge construction inspection. We believe that extensive "boots on the ground" experience is key to developing well-rounded design staff who efficiently and consistently produce practical and cost-effective solutions.

With offices in Sherwood Park, Peace River, and Grande Prairie, Alberta, we have a strong presence in Central and Northern Alberta. Our growing client base and expanding service region reflect our reputation for quality work and timely project delivery.

Our clients' needs are our priority. As a relatively small, employee-owned firm, our team collaborates effectively to meet client expectations without delays or bureaucracy.

Our progressive management style and team atmosphere contribute to low employee turnover, resulting in a dedicated and reliable group of engineers and technologists who consistently strive to exceed client expectations.

Building strong, ongoing relationships with clients allows us to understand their budgetary and political constraints, ensuring these are addressed in every project. Our goal is to meet or exceed client expectations by delivering cost-effective, practical, and timely solutions on every project.

Mission Statement

To ensure our clients are served by knowledgeable and skilled professionals providing services to protect the client’s investment in their infrastructure at affordable costs.

MPA is devoted to ensuring safety in all aspects of our business. MPA is very proud that it has developed and implemented a company wide safety program which has achieved certification from the Alberta Construction Safety Association.

Our team

MPA takes pride in offering a well-rounded team of technical and support staff with extensive experience in bridge design, construction, maintenance, and inspection.

Our team is composed of a well-balanced mix of senior and junior engineers, technologists, draftsmen, biologists, and support staff, all working together to ensure successful project delivery.

Our management team

Our senior management team, consisting of three senior engineers and one senior technologist, collectively brings over 100 years of engineering experience. Their combined strengths cover a vast array of project and design expertise, including bridge inspection, design, contract preparation, and construction for various bridge types such as culverts, standard bridges, and major bridges. They have extensive field engineering experience in both new construction and maintenance projects, ensuring practical and cost-effective solutions.

Individually, each member contributes unique strengths: from leading bridge inspection programs and training others in BIM certification, to managing complex bridge and culvert design projects, and developing comprehensive Bridge Management Asset Programs for rural municipalities. Their backgrounds also include significant roles in railway bridge and track inspection, landfill design, stormwater management, and operations management. Additionally, all team members have significant experience in drainage design, hydrology, and hydrotechnical analysis.

Together, this diverse group of professionals forms a highly skilled and experienced team dedicated to delivering successful project outcomes.
